Skin Kratos Fortnite
Fortnite certainly made a big impact with the Marvel theme for Chapter 2 Season 4. Now that the season has wrapped up and the impressive Galactus event has taken place, Epic Games is gearing up to deliver more content during Season 5. Fortnite Season 5 is off to a fast start by introducing the God of War Kratos as one of the first skins released.
Skin Kratos Fortnite
Epic Games released a short trailer revealing Kratos, who is now available in the Fortnite item shop. The skin itself is modeled after Kratos in the most recent God of War title, which focuses on Kratos' son Atreus and Norse Mythology. Players can also grab the Kratos Bundle, which features the Guardian Shield Glider, Kratos' signature Leviathan Axe Pickaxe, Mimir's Head Back Bling, and a signature Kratos emote.
PlayStation players can also unlock an exclusive Armored Kratos skin by matchmaking on a PlayStation console after purchasing the original Kratos skin. Kratos has been one of the most famous PlayStation-exclusive characters since the original God of War title on PlayStation 2 in 2005. Now, for the first time ever, Kratos will be playable on an Xbox console.
Fortnite has already featured many iconic characters as skins in the game including Star Wars characters like Rey and Kylo Ren, DC characters like Batman and Joker, and Marvel characters like Captain America and Deadpool. Fortnite Season 5 will bring together the most deadly hunters across the universe, and kicked off with the recruitment of Mando and Baby Yoda from the popular show The Mandalorian.
All of the new skins of Zero Point are themed around this concept. While some of them are original characters, others are crossovers with major series like Star Wars, God of War, and Halo. Here are all of the skins featured in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 based on skins already in the game or confirmed, as well as others that have leaked.
The pair are capping off this partnership with a Kratos skin, which was confirmed by PlayStation after the skin leaked. We don't yet know for sure how players will unlock this God of War skin but don't be surprised if players can only purchase it within the Fortnite store on PS4 or PS5.
Data-miners found Halo skins within the new season of the game, including a Master Chief skin, a little Warthog, and a USNC Pelican. According to @FNBRUnreleased, there will also be some sort of Red vs. Blue collab which could just be the Master Chief skin reskinned in red and blue colors.
While the big leaked skins are Kratos and Master Chief, several original skins will also be added to Fortnite according to data gathered by Pro Game Guides. Many of these skins appear to be Christmas-themed, including Snowmando, Diamond Diva, Gingerbread Raider, Fa-La-La-La-Fishtick, and Frost Squad.
But there are also some skins disconnected from that theme like Marauder Heavy, Dark Skully, Indigo Kuno, Cloud Striker, Madcap, Brilliant Bomber, Wake Rider, and Backscatter that players will eventually be able to choose from. All of these skins should come to Fortnite as the season progresses over the next couple of months.
The flagship crossover skin for this season of Fortnite is Din Djarin, the main character in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. This crossover makes a lot of sense given the fact that the show's second season remains ongoing, with a new episode being added to Disney+ every Friday.
This crossover is also pretty thorough considering the fact that Baby Yoda and the Razor Crest are also included. He's the first skin you unlock in the battle pass, so it's very hard to miss the Mandalorian when playing Fortnite.
God of War and its protagonist Kratos is... one of these things. Nonetheless, the famously successful and infamously violent PlayStation exclusive staple bled over into Fortnite, and you can now acquire a Kratos skin in-game, with additional bonuses available if you are playing on PlayStation 5.
Kratos is the protagonist of the long-running God of War franchise, the PlayStation's premier exclusive action series featuring many elements of Greek Mythology, and as of the latest game, Norse Mythology too. Considering the games mostly consist of Kratos outright murdering every element of mythology he meets, this is an odd choice for Fortnite. One may have said the same thing about professional assassin John Wick getting a skin, but John Wick didn't decapitate a god and use their severed head as a flashlight - and that's among the tamer things Kratos does.
That said, he does make a valiant attempt to leave his life of violence behind by the time of the last game in the series, where he is old and a dad, so it makes sense that Epic chose that depiction for his skin in Fortnite. Old habits die hard as he decapitates yet another god, but this time around the god was stuck in a tree and asked him to do it, so it's totally okay, guys! Adding said severed head as Back Bling to equip while wearing the Kratos skin sure is... a choice.
Kratos is - for the first time ever! - available on all platforms, not just PlayStation! He isn't tied to any kind of in-game quest or promotion or other requirement. You simply need to purchase the Kratos Bundle in the in-game item shop for 2,200 V-Bucks. This bundle includes the base Kratos skin, the Leviathan Pickaxe based on his weapon from 2018's God of War, Mimir Back Bling which is the aforementioned severed head and a glider. For the lower cost of 1500 V-Bucks, you can get just the Skin and the Mimir Back Bling.
It seems a bit reductive to hand out the appearance of such a well-accomplished héros in exchange for the herculean feat of whipping our your credit card, but at least fans don't have to jump through too many hoops to unlock the skin.
That said, unlocking his special gold-armored version (see the featured image at the top of this article) is much more difficult to pull off. The requirement for this is to own the Kratos skin above and also play a match of Fortnite on a PlayStation 5. While, once again, the bar of entry is payment, getting a PS5 is notoriously difficult due to low supply, high demand and an army of scalper bots snatching every machine at MSRP they can only so people can flip them on eBay at insane markups. This pretty much makes the golden style for the Kratos Skin a temporary, honorary member of our Rarest Fortnite Skins lineup, at least until Sony manages to get the damn console on shelves again.
The Oathbreaker set includes the Guardian Shield Glider, the Mimir Back Bling, and the Leviathan Axe Pickaxe, which activates the Freezing Burst Emote. Then there's the PS5-exclusive Armored Kratos Style, a separate skin that you can get by buying the Kratos Outfit and then playing a match on PS5. The rest of the new cosmetics are available on every platform, despite God of War being a PlayStation-exclusive IP.
Fortnite is getting a new skin for Chapter 2 Season 5, and it's none other than the Ghost of Sparta himself. That's right, it looks like Kratos from God of War is coming to Fortnite, as evidenced by a promotional image previewing the skin and an audio transmission from the official PlayStation Twitter account teasing the crossover.
As you can see in this tweet from well-known Fortnite news account HYPEX, the Fortnite Kratos skin is a cartoonier, smoothed-out version of the grizzled warrior from 2018's God of War. That should help him blend in better with the Fortnite aesthetic, but it's a little jarring to see Kratos looking like a toy-figurine, more-so when you imagine him shooting a gun.
The official Fortnite Twitter account hasn't officially confirmed the Kratos skin for Season 5, but looking around on social media you'll see plenty of other PS4 and PS5 players sharing screenshots of the same promotional image above. I checked my PS5 and couldn't find it, but that could be because I don't have Fortnite installed there.
The developer revealed the new skin on Twitter, alongside an action-packed trailer that stars the Ghost Of Sparta coming to the rescue of the recently added character Mancake. The Kratos skin will be available on all platforms. It also comes in a bundle with a glider, a Mimir back bling and the Leviathan Axe pickaxe for 2,200 V-Bucks.
The Kratos Fortnite account is a limited-time cosmetic skin that was added to the game during the crossover event between Fortnite and God of War. This skin is based on the appearance of Kratos from the God of War franchise and is highly sought after by fans of both games. The skin is no longer available for purchase and is considered a rare item within the Fortnite community.
There was no information regarding when the Kratos Fortnite skin would be available to purchase, nor did we know if it would be free and exclusive for PlayStation players, or whether every platform would have access to the skin considering the God of War game is a PlayStation exclusive.
It looks like the God of War is preparing to pick up his Leviathan Axe once again. A new Fortnite Kratos skin has seemingly been leaked as part of the ongoing Chapter 2 Season 5. While Season 4 rounded off the Marvel-themed fight against Galactus, it didn't quite tie everything off with a neat bow. The cliffhanger ending saw the return of Agent Jonesy, who is putting together his own squad of mercenaries to hunt down rogue characters and stop them escaping their own reality loop.
We've already seen the fan-favourite Din Djarin, aka the Mandalorian, from the show of the same name. Now, Jonesy seems to have found his next recruit. Sony confirmed the news by showing off a full Kratos ad in some countries - before pulling it down. At the time of writing, it's been replaced by a cryptic tease of the bald brute. Thankfully, Fortnite favourite HYPEX has shared the Fortnite Kratos skin in all its muscular glory.
There are big questions, like will this be a PlayStation-only skin, or does it confirm those rumours that the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok will finally take the long-running series away from just Sony and share with its biggest rivals? As with all things Fortnite, we're suitably in the dark for now. 041b061a72
