the left side of the receiver is cut away to provide access to the internal parts. the locking bolt is held in place by a simple bolt catch, which is mounted on a small bolt-head sleeve. the action is the typical remington smoothbore action, with the hammer on the left side and a cocking lever on the right. a lever on the right side of the receiver, with a small lever attached to it, raises the left side of the barrel to remove it from the receiver.
the rear of the receiver is cut to provide a place for a stock to be installed. the inside is finished with a flat surface, with the exception of a recoil lug. the bolt face is finished with a concave recessed area for a factory bolt stop, and the receiver is finished with a flat surface for the bolt face. the ejector is located in the top of the receiver on the left side. it is not as strong as the remington model 870 ejector, but it works just fine. the extractor is located near the muzzle end of the receiver. it is not as strong as the remington model 870 extractor, but it works just fine. the magazine well is located just forward of the extractor. it is not as strong as the remington model 870 magazine well, but it works just fine. the action is a standard smoothbore, with the action cut away for ease of access to the internal parts. the locking lugs are installed in the barrel, and are very easy to install and remove. the barrel extension will add one more inch to the barrel, and threads on the inside of the barrel can be tapped to accept a standard blank extension. the bolt is notched, and can be removed to access the chamber. the action is very easy to disassemble, and is very easy to reassemble. 3d9ccd7d82
